CIDG: December ops yield P159M-worth of evidence, nearly 1,000 arrested

MANILA, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reported confiscating P158,994,889.91-worth of firearms, ammunition, explosives and other evidence; and arresting 964 suspects in illegal activities in December 2024.

In a statement on Saturday, the police unit detailed that its 885 operations yielded in 94 court cases to curb loose firearms, illegal gambling, environmental crimes, smuggling, counterfeiting, illegal liquified petroleum gas (LPG) manufacturing, and terrorism.

The CIDG previously reported that it seized P1.7 billion in evidence and arrested over 1,000 suspects in November 2024.
