MANILA, Philippines 鈥� The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recorded over 140,000 apprehensions for violating local ordinances since the start of January 2025, collecting P42,391,931 in fines.
Data from the NCRPO released on Saturday showed the following violations logged in Metro Manila:
- Public drinking and smoking 鈥� 51,278 cases
- City traffic ordinances 鈥� 44,128 cases
- Roaming the streets without shirts 鈥� 15,788 cases
- Curfew breaches by minors 鈥� 15,699 cases
- Illegal garbage dumping 鈥� 15,483 cases
- Road obstructions 鈥� 1,841 cases
- Use of karaoke beyond allowed hours 鈥� 1,633 cases
- Vandalism 鈥� 253 cases
- Other infractions 鈥� 1,814 cases
The violations resulted in apprehensions in the following districts comprising NCRPO:
- Southern Police District (Makati, Muntinlupa, Para帽aque, Pasay, Pateros, Taguig) 鈥� 75,148 apprehensions
- Northern Police District (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) 鈥� 43,897 apprehensions
- Quezon City Police District 鈥� 13,419 apprehensions
- Eastern Police District 鈥� 10,407 apprehensions
- Manila Police District 鈥� 5,340 apprehensions

鈥淐rime prevention always starts with an effective enforcement of discipline and order in the community,鈥� NCRPO Director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said in a statement.
鈥淎s we continuously hunt lawless elements who threaten peace and security, we will also simultaneously address minor peace and safety issues to foster a highly favorable security landscape in Metro Manila,鈥� Aberin added.

The NCRPO recently also reported a 23 percent decrease in crime from Nov. 23, 2024 to Jan. 15, 2025.
