MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has responded to an oil spill from a fire-hit warehouse in Laguna, which affected about 100 square meters of the San Isidro River in San Pedro.
In a report on Monday, the PCG said it received a report and inspected a warehouse in San Pedro’s Phase 1 around 8 a.m. on January 26.
“Initial investigation revealed that the spilled oil is weathered with approximately 1000 liters, which has affected an area of about 100 square meters at San Isidro River,” the PCG said.
The PCG also said its personnel, along with City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office San Pedro conducted a joint recovery operation, laying out 50 meters of oil spill booms to prevent the spread of the slick.
