MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) on Monday denied reports claiming that Zamboanga International Airport has been temporarily closed for repairs and maintenance.

In a statement, Caap clarified that the airport remains fully operational and that the rumor circulating is false.

“The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines strongly refutes misleading and unverified claims regarding the alleged temporary closure of Zamboanga International Airport for repairs,” the agency said.

Caap also stressed that there are no plans to suspend operations despite ongoing runway rehabilitation and terminal expansion projects.

“Any scheduled repairs or maintenance work at Zamboanga International Airport and other Caap-operated airports will be communicated through our official channels,” it added.
