High-value drug trafficker busted with P1.3M shabu in Lucena City
LUCENA CITY — Police arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 5, an alleged big-time drug trafficker in possession of more than P1.3-million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in this capital city of Quezon province.
City police anti-narcotics operatives nabbed “Atan” at 10:05 a.m. after he sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Ibabang Iyam, Lieutenant Colonel Dennis de Guzman, Lucena City police chief, said in a spot report.
The operatives confiscated from him 17 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 68 grams with a standard Dangerous Drugs Board value of P462,400 at P6,800 per gram.
The seized meth is worth P1,387,200 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, the report added.
Police tagged Atan, a resident of neighboring Pagbilao town, as among the persons on the police drug watch list as an HVI or high-value individual in the drug trade.

The suspect is under police custody and is facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
