The toll fee increase will help NLEx Corp., a unit of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), recoup investments in recent years.

“From 2021 to 2024, the tollway company has embarked on infrastructure projects and improvements in its road networks that enhanced the safety, mobility, and convenience of motorists,” NLEx Corp. said in a statement on Friday.

Last year, the tollway operator opened the new F. Raymundo Exit in Barangay Pandayan for class 1 vehicles and finished widening the Meycauayan northbound exit ramp.

The new exit is an alternative route for those going to Iba/Camalig, Metrogate, Lias, Lambakin, and Pantoc, F. Raymundo and Antonio Streets. Meanwhile, the additional lane in Meycauayan northbound exit ramp will cater to motorists going to Malhacan.

It is also working on the P1.5-billion NLEx C5 Link Segment 8.2 (Section 1A) and NLEx Phase 3 Widening.

The C5 Link project is a 2-kilometer toll road linking Mindanao Avenue to Quirino Highway in Novaliches.
