Alleged drug group leader, pusher busted in Laguna, Rizal

LUCENA CITY — An alleged leader of a drug group was caught on Wednesday with an illegal firearm and shabu (crystal meth) in Biñan City in Laguna.

The Region 4A police reported on Thursday, Feb. 6, that cops with a search warrant, swooped down at 10:15 p.m. on the safehouse of alias “Jek-Jek” in Barangay San Antonio.

The authorities found an undocumented caliber .45 pistol with seven bullets and eight plastic sachets of shabu weighing seven grams.

The police tagged Jek-Jek as the alleged leader of “Bordadora drug group.”

Jek-Jek is classified as a high-value individual (HVI), referring to a financier, trafficker, manufacturer, and importer of illegal drugs or leaders/members of such groups.

Meanwhile, anti-illegal drugs operatives in Antipolo City, Rizal arrested “Kayo” in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Jose around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect, an identified street-level drug pusher on the police watch list, yielded P81,000 worth of meth and an illegal caliber .38 revolver with four bullets.

The operatives also confiscated a mobile phone to be examined for records of drug transactions.

Both suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the government gun laws.

Kayo will also face another case for violation of the election gun ban.
