LUCENA CITY — A magnitude 3.2 earthquake was felt in Nasugbu town in Batangas province on Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor occurred at 6:36 a.m. and was detected 28 kilometers southwest of the locality, Phivolcs said
The tremor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 67 kilometers. A tectonic earthquake is produced by sudden movement along faults and plate boundaries.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks were expected.
On Jan. 30, two tectonic earthquakes, both magnitude 3.9, were recorded six hours apart in Calatagan town, some 27 kilometers from Nasugbu.
