LUCENA CITY — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended on Saturday, Feb. 8, sea travel for all small vessels in the northern part of Quezon province due to bad weather.

It cited as basis the 11 a.m. weather forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (Pagasa).

The PCG-northern Quezon based in Real town said strong gales with wind force associated with the northeast monsoon are prevailing and this situation will cause rough sea currents.

The turbulence at sea is expected to affect the coastal town of General Nakar, the northern and eastern coast of Polilo Islands that include the island towns of Polillo, Panukulan, Burdeos, and the adjacent island municipalities of Patnanungan and Jomalig, the PCG said.

This means that all trips of sea vessels with 250 gross tonnage or less plying the route within the affected areas of northern Quezon are suspended.

The suspension order will be lifted and sea travel for small sea craft may be resumed any time when the weather improves, based on the forecast of the state weather bureau, the PCG said.
