MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) relieved the personnel involved in an incident shown in a viral video where officers allegedly entered a home in Taguig City without a search warrant and manhandled several residents.
“A comprehensive but swift investigation is ongoing to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the case, identify police personnel who abused their authority, police procedures violated and to institute more effective measures to avoid these kind[s] of incidents in the future,” the NCRPO said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Involved personnel, including the immediate supervisor, were relieved from their post to pave [the] way [for] an impartial investigation. The firearms of the personnel involved in the operations were also deposited to their unit assignments,” the NCRPO added.
Nine personnel were relieved from their posts, the NCRPO Public Information Office told in a Viber message.
In its statement, the NCRPO added that those found guilty face suspension, demotion, dismissal or even criminal cases, based on the result of their investigation.

(The police in Block 5 always do this. They raid without search warrants. They even raid on Sundays.)
“Pinagsisira mga CCTV ng mga may-ari ng bahay. Pati mga bata sinaktan. Kaya ngayon, yung batang sinuntok nila may trauma. Ginagamit nila pagkapulis nila [para] mang-holdap. Palagi na lang sila ganyan!” it added.
(They break the CCTVs of the homeowners. They even hurt children. That’s why now the children they hit have trauma. They use their position to hold people up. They’re always like that!)

“The NCRPO will be merciless against erring police personnel who will be proven to have committed human rights abuses and other irregularities in the recent incident in Taguig City, going viral in social media,” the Metro Manila police said.
“There is no room for abuses in NCRPO, and we will ensure that justice will be served,” it added.
