LAOAG, Ilocos Norte — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. pities other political parties who are seemingly begging for strong senatorial candidates like the ones his administration have fielded, saying that their bets pale in comparison to those from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.
Marcos, during the Alyansa’s proclamation rally at the Centennial Arena on Tuesday, delivered a fiery speech that seemed to allude to other senatorial slates participating in the 2025 midterm elections.
According to the President, it seems that some of the candidates of other parties were just asked to deliver vinegar and eventually got certificates of candidacy.

(That is why I’m wondering, some candidates ay have only been asked to deliver vinegar and somehow secured a certificate of candidacy. They are not comparable to our candidates.)
Marcos further said that the Alyansa candidates are already tried and tested, compared to other parties’ bets.
(Our candidates are leaders with tried and tested records in public service.)
There are other parties fielding candidates for the Senate – PDP, which is led by former president Rodrigo Duterte, formed an eight-man ticket for 2025, the Makabayan bloc fielded an 11-man slate, while Liberal Party is pushing for two bets — former senators Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and Bam Aquino.
