High-value target yields ecstasy, shabu worth P9.6M in Cavite
LUCENA CITY — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives and policemen arrested an alleged Filipino big-time drug pusher and seized ecstasy tablets and shabu (crystal meth) worth P9.6 million in a drug bust operation in Bacoor City, Cavite.
The PDEA-Region 4A said in a report Saturday that their operatives, along with Cavite maritime police, conducted a joint sting operation in Barangay Molino II around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.
The arrested suspect, identified as “Kenneth,” 23, was caught with several plastic bags containing 4,753 ecstasy tablets in assorted colors valued at P8,070,000.
The suspect, a resident of the same village, also yielded a knot-tied plastic bag containing shabu weighing 230 grams worth P1,565,000.
Also seized were at least five plastic bags containing unspecified volumes of powder in different colors, also suspected as ecstasy.
The report identified the arrested suspect as a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade.

The suspect was detained and will face a formal complaint of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Earlier, the same PDEA and police team also arrested two Nigerian nationals in another drug bust operation at 8:40 p.m. in Barangay Molino III.
The suspects, identified by their aliases as “Ik,” 30, a student, and “Stanley,” 34, a religious pastor, were caught in possession of 800 pieces of blue tablets suspected to be ecstasy worth about P1,360,000 and one sealed plastic bag containing shabu weighing 50 grams worth P340,000.
The report tagged the Nigerians as HVIs.
