WALANG PASOK: In-person classes suspended due to danger heat index

MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units and schools have suspended face-to-face classes on Monday, March 3, as the state weather bureau forecasts a “danger” level of heat index in parts of Luzon.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), its stations in Science Garden in Quezon City and Clark Airport in Pampanga forecast a heat index of 46 degrees Celsius, which falls under the “danger” category.
Pagasa station in Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija may also experience a “danger” heat index of 45 degrees for the province on Monday, Pagasa added.

Below is the list of areas where face-to-face classes are suspended on Monday, March 3, 2025:

- Las Piñas City – All levels, public and private
- Malabon City – All levels, public and private
- Parañaque City – All levels, public and private
- Valenzuela City – Preschool to senior high school, public and private
- La Salle Green Hills – Preschool to senior high school
To prevent heat-related illnesses, Pagasa likewise advised the public to take the following precautions:
- Limit outdoor activities
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
- Avoid beverages like tea, coffee, soda, and alcohol
- Use umbrellas, hats, and wear light, long-sleeved clothing when outdoors
- Schedule strenuous activities during cooler times of the day, such as early morning or late afternoon
