MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has launched an investigation into the attempted killing of Maguindanao del Sur vice mayor.
The CHR on Thursday expressed “deep concern” over the attack, adding that the commission deployed a Quick Response Operation to conduct the investigation.
“CHR strongly condemns any form of arbitrary attack against individuals. In the BARMM region, where peace and stability are paramount, such acts of violence endanger not only lives and safety but also the collective vision of sustainable security that has long been pursued,” CHR said in a statement.
