Four areas are expected to experience "extreme caution" category of heat index on Sunday, reaching 41°C, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

MANILA, Philippines — Four areas are expected to experience “extreme caution” category of heat index on Sunday, reaching 41°C, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In an updated 5 p.m. Saturday bulletin, Pagasa said that its monitoring stations in San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, Cuyo in Palawan, Iloilo City in Iloilo, and Virac in Catanduanes forecast a 41°C heat index in their respective areas.

The four areas will fall under the “extreme caution” category or 33°C to 41°C. The state weather bureau explained that at this level, an individual may experience heat cramps and exhaustion. Heat stroke may also be possible with continued exposure to the sun.
