PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga Peninsula, or Region 9, seized suspected shabu worth P10.2 million in two operations on Thursday.
PDEA-9 Regional Director Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc said two suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation they conducted jointly with the local police at the parking lot of a shopping mall in Barangay San Pedro here.
Tosoc identified the arrested suspects as Jessie Damolo Pada, 38, and Sanny Boy Amrosi Fontanilla, 29, both residents of Maramag, Bukidnon.
The two allegedly transacted with an undercover operative. Seized from them were transparent plastic packs containing around 500 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P3.4 million.
In Zamboanga City, about a kilogram of suspected shabu concealed in a Chinese tea bag, with a market value of P6.8 million, was seized from four suspects in Barangay San Roque.
The four arrested suspects were Eldrian Alvarez, 20, Jason Orquijo, 39, Alrakib Dasid, 36, and Ellan Testado, 42, all residents of Barangay San Roque, Zamboanga City.
Tosoc urged the public to report any suspicious activities to help curb the proliferation of dangerous substances in the region.
