PILI, CAMARINES SUR – Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma on Friday urged employers to implement flexible working arrangements amid rising temperatures nationwide.
In an ambush interview during the job fair at Kafuerte Complex here, Laguesma advised employers to check the conditions of their work environments, particularly the ventilation systems, and to provide workers with free water to prevent dehydration.
Laguesma emphasized that flexible work options, including work-from-home setups, should be considered for employees whose physical presence at the workplace is not essential.

“As long as the work is not affected, it is okay for employees to work remotely,” he stressed.
Laguesma also reminded employers that flexible working arrangements are allowed, provided they do not disrupt business operations.
