During a visit to the facility, Robredo praised the initiative for providing a dignified and well-maintained final resting place for the community’s departed.
She said it can serve as a model for other cities striving to improve public cemetery conditions.

On Facebook, Robredo said the lessons she and her team learned about the Garden of Life would serve as an inspiration in providing better services for the people of Naga City where she is running for mayor.

Robredo and her team were welcomed by Mandaluyong City Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos, Councilor Charisse Marie Abalos-Vargas and other local government officials on March 7.
The Garden of Life is one of the many multi-awarded projects and programs initiated by Abalos during his stint as mayor of Mandaluyong City.

The initiative, designed to offer a clean, organized, and dignified space for the deceased, later earned a prestigious Galing Pook Award for its innovation and impact.
To date, the project has benefited 16,800 individuals, ensuring that families—regardless of financial means—have access to a proper burial site for their loved ones.
