Illegal drugs worth over P2.4M seized in weeklong ops in Bicol
LEGAZPI CITY — The Police Regional Office 5 (PNP-PRO 5) seized illegal drugs worth over P2.4 million during operations across the Bicol region from March 3 to 9.
A total of 18 operations were conducted, resulting in the confiscation of 357.5316 grams of shabu and 10 grams of marijuana.
According to the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the total value of the seized drugs is estimated at P2,432,414.88.
Police Brigadier General Andre Dizon, Bicol police chief, reported the arrest of 23 individuals during the operations.
Camarines Norte recorded the highest drug seizure, amounting to P2,159,680.00, followed by Camarines Sur with P140,294.88 and Albay with P114,760.00 worth of illegal substances.
Smaller seizures were also reported in Masbate, where P13,600.00 worth of drugs were confiscated, and in Sorsogon, with P4,080.00 worth of illegal drugs.
Dizon also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement to combat the spread of illegal drugs and maintain peace and order in the region.
