SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Revenue shares amounting to P143 million from taxes paid by business locators in the Subic Bay Freeport were distributed to neighboring communities, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) said on Monday.

According to the SBMA Accounting Department, the amount released accounted for 2 percent of the 5 percent tax on gross income paid by Freeport locators from July to December 2024. The remaining 3 percent of the taxes collected are remitted directly to the national government.

The revenue shares for this period dropped significantly from P204.7 million recorded from January to June 2024.

Olongapo City, the largest beneficiary since 2011, received P33.48 million, followed by Subic in Zambales with P21.48 million.

Other recipients include Dinalupihan, Bataan (P17.83 million); San Marcelino, Zambales (P17.19 million); Hermosa, Bataan (P15.33 million); Castillejos, Zambales (P13.02 million); Morong, Bataan (P12.66 million); and San Antonio, Zambales (P12.17 million).
