Dagupan seen to have 42°C ‘danger’ heat index on Tuesday, March 18

MANILA, Philippines — The heat index in Dagupan, Pangasinan, is predicted to peak at 42 degrees Celsius (°C) on Tuesday (March 18), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

This means the city’s heat index will fall under the “danger” category, ranging from 42 to 51°C, which may cause heat cramps and exhaustion.

Prolonged exposure to such extreme heat can lead to heat stroke, Pagasa warned.

The Department of Health previously advised the public to stay hydrated, and limit outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to lower the risk of heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses.

The agency also recommended wearing loose and light clothing to stay cool in the intense heat.
