ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Police arrested two men who were allegedly found in possession of about P7,051,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and a handgun during a sting operation in Malabanias village on Sunday afternoon.
In a statement on Monday, the city police identified the suspects only as “Usup” and “Tobats,” residents of Lourdes Northwest and Lourdes Sur villages in this city.
According to the police, the two are high-value individuals in the campaign against illegal drugs.
At around 4 p.m. on Sunday, officers conducted a buy-bust operation in Hensonville Subdivision, leading to the arrest.
Authorities confiscated a kilo of suspected shabu and a .45 caliber Norinco pistol loaded with live bullets and equipped with a silencer.
The suspects face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the ongoing election gun ban. INQ
