Police to file murder raps vs Antipolo road rage suspect
MANILA, Philippines — The Antipolo police will amend the frustrated murder complaints it filed earlier against the motorist who went on a shooting rampage along Barangay San Jose to murder, according to city police chief Lt. Col. Ryan Manongdo.
In a Facebook live on Monday evening, Manongdo said their decision to amend the complaints came after one of the victims, who was shot in the head, succumbed to his injuries just this afternoon.

“Sabi ko nga ang masamang balita namatay na ang isa so i-upgrade natin ito sa murder and two counts of frustrated murder at ’yung violation ng gun ban,” the Antipolo police chief said.
(The bad news is that one of the victims died, so we will upgrade the complaints to murder, two counts of frustrated murder, and gun ban violation. The victim died this afternoon.)
“Nasa prosecutor at husgado na po ang bola na-provide na namin lahat ng ebidensya,” he added.
(The case is already in the hands of the prosecutor and the court, we already gave all the pieces of evidence.)
Authorities earlier identified the three victims as Peter, Patrick, and Davis. They were rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
Police said Peter sustained a gunshot wound to the head, Patrick on his right arm, and Davis was hit in the right chest while attempting to pacify the altercation.
Also injured during the incident was the suspect’s wife, according to Antipolo Mayor Jun Ynares III.
Initial investigation showed that 28-year-old suspect “Kenneth” and the victims engaged in a road altercation that escalated into a shooting incident along Marcos Highway in Sitio Calumpang.
Police earlier disclosed that the suspect was arrested at a Commission on Elections checkpoint.
Although Kenneth has a license to own and possess firearms, Manongdo said he does not have a permit to carry one amid the election gun ban.
