‘Danger’ heat index forecast in Pangasinan, Catanduanes and Isabela

Dagupan City continues to experience dangerous heat index category

MANILA, Philippines — Three provinces will experience a heat index at the “danger” level on Saturday, April 5, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The “danger” level means the heat index is between 42 and 51°C.

This condition may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke, if heavy physical activity or exposure to the sun is continuous.

The heat index level was projected in the following Pagasa monitoring stations:

Meanwhile, 67 stations across the country are forecast to experience an “extreme caution” heat index level, which is between 33 and 41°.

These include stations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City (40°) and the Science Garden in Quezon City (36°).

The rest of the areas with an “extreme caution” heat index level are as follows:

Meanwhile, five areas will have a “caution” heat index level, which is between 27 and 32°C.

Baguio City, Benguet

The station in Itbayat, Batanes was seen to experience a heat index level of 24°C, which is not hazardous, according to Pagasa.
