MANILA, Philippines — Generally fair and warm weather is expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on Friday (April 11) due to the easterlies, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In a public weather forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Chenel Domiguez said, despite the fair weather, they are not ruling out the possibility of short-term rains.
“Inaasahan natin yung buong Luzon ay makakaranas ng maaliwalas na panahon pero asahan natin ang init na dala ng easterlies,” said Dominguez.
(We expect the entire Luzon to experience clear weather, but we should expect the heat brought by the easterlies.)
“Kung merong panandaliang pag-ulan, dulot ito ng localized thunderstorm lalo na sa hapon o gabi,” she noted.
(If there is short-term rain, it will be caused by localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening.)
Dwellers in Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and Soccsksargen, meanwhile, may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
They were also warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao, on the other hand, may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
Pagasa has not seen any tropical cyclone or low-pressure area within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility at present.
