Looc remains unscathed in Insular Square Gateball

THE LOOC Saltmakers remained unbeaten in the ongoing Insular Square Gateball league-Presidents Cup.

This after the Saltmakers defeated the Tabok Exporters, 13-10, last weekend at the Insular Square Mall in Mandaue City.

The win was Looc’s fourth straight in as many games.

Meanwhile, the Maguikay SuperNiners and Jagobiao Blazers bounced back from losses in the morning by crushing separate rivals in the afternoon competition.

The Superniners were first routed by Umapad Linkers, 9-14, but redeemed themselves in the afternoon by defeating Subangdaku Winemakers, 20-11.

The Blazers lost in their morning game against Casuntingan Villagers, 12-18, but bounced back strong to shock the Linkers of Umapad, 21-14.

Mandaue’s gateball advocate for senior citizens William Sienes Sr. also earned a win by default against the Canduman Sandalmakers. The Casuntingan Gateball Club is at second place in the team standings with a 3-0 (win-loss) card after defeating Umapad.

The Guizo Wizards also climbed up to third spot at 2-1 as they edged the Cubacub Highlanders, 12-10. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
