Comatose patient needs help

Edgar Rebancos, 68, has been comatose since suffering a stroke in October 2012.

Rebancos was confined at the Ospital ng Makati Intensive Care Unit and was discharged on Jan. 19 this year after incurring almost P800,000 in hospital bills.

His eldest daughter Evan Mae, a security guard of Grandeur Security Agency, has been caring for him since then. She is the only one among his seven children who has a stable job although she herself has five children, three of whom are still studying while the others are unemployed. She also supports two grandchildren.

“The doctor said my father has no chance of recovery and he is being fed through a feeding tube. My belief is that nothing is more powerful than faith and prayer,” said Evan Mae. She is asking for assistance from kind-hearted readers of the Inquirer.

“He needs a suction machine, an oxygen tank and financial assistance for his liquid diet, antibiotics and medicines,” Evan Mae added.
