Cop gunned down in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — A senior police officer was shot dead by four unidentified assailants Thursday morning in Quezon city, a radio report said.

Senior Police Officer 4 Torio, who was on board an owner type jeep, was gunned down around 8:30 a.m. along Kalayaan B road in Commonwealth Avenue.

Torio, said the radio report, was assigned with Task Force Commonwealth under the Quezon City Police District.

The policeman died on the spot while inside his vehicle that had plate number WEF 604.

The police have yet to identify the perpetrators.

The investigation is ongoing.
