MANILA, Philippines — Vice PresidentJejomar Binayon Wednesday accused Senator AntonioTrillanesIV of intimidating a witness to stop him from testifying at the Senate investigation into the alleged overpriced parking building in Makati City.

Binay said Trillanestried to stop a representative of a contractor from attending Tuesday’s hearing by the Senate blue ribbon committee.

“ItongtestigongitonakinatawanngkontrataaypinagmumuraniTrillanes,” he said at a press conference.

“Ito ayminura,tinakot,dinuroat (pinapasamasakasongplunder),” saidBinay.

Binaysaid the senator must have been afraid that this witness would tell the Senate that the parking building, which is the subject of the investigation, was not overpriced.

Binaydid not identify the witness as of posting time.

BinaysaidTrillanesand Senate Majority Leader Alan PeterCayetano’sway of questioning the hearing was proof that the Senate was a “politicized” forum.
