Binay party to offer coalitions ‘with oppositions of past’

AN opposition that will offer coalitions “with the oppositions of the past” was how Vice President Jejomar Binay described the new political party that his group will launch most likely this June this year.

Binay, in an interview on Wednesday, confirmed reports that June will be the tentative date for the launching of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) as a new political party.

UNA is currently being headed by Binay, former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, and detained Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile.

Asked what would be the composition of the new party, Binay said: “Yung opposition (The opposition).”

“We will be offering coalitions with the oppositions of the past,” he added, citing as example Estrada’s Partido ng Masang Pilipino or PMP, and not Nacionalista Party  as earlier reported.

Among the NP members are Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Antonio Trillanes IV who have openly accused Binay of corruption especially when he was still the mayor of Makati City.
