On Feb. 4, 1916, by virtue of Act No. 2612 of the Philippine Commission, the Philippine National Bank (PNB) was established to replace the small government-owned Agricultural Bank. The PNB’s first head office was the Masonic Temple located in Escolta, Manila. Since 2007, the former government bank has been 100 percent privatized. As of June 2015, the PNB has 662 branches and 900 ATMs nationwide. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
