A former media man and his brother were killed in a gun attack in San Juan City on Thursday evening, police said.
Eastern Police District director Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula identified the victims as Michael D. Marasigan, 60, and his brother Christopher, 50, a businessman.
Michael was a former Business World journalist, former independent video producer at Living Asia Channel and had worked at the Department of Finance.
A report to Sapitula quoting witnesses said the two were on a metallic gray Mazda with plate number PN WOU 583 that was traveling along V. Cruz Street and approaching Barcelona Street in San Juan around 6:10 p.m. when they were attacked.

Meanwhile, Barangay Sta. Lucia watchman Troy Chavez said the vehicle of the victims came from P. Parada Street and was going to Barcelona Street when the assailants on a black motorcycle approached the SUV. The back rider alighted and shot the victims several times.
Michael was a resident of Barangay Onse in San Juan and Christopher, of Miranda in Barangay Sta. Lucia, the village watchman said.
Michael was in the passenger seat and died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Christopher suffered at least three gunshot wounds near the stomach and a gunshot wound to the side of the body. He was rushed to the San Juan Medical Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
There was no closed-circuit television installed in the area, Chavez said. There is an ongoing housing project near the crime scene, the watchman added.
Investigators are still looking into the possible motive behind the killing at press time.
