Aquino OKs climate change plan
President Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday signed the first ever government’s action plan to respond to climate change, with his officials saying that his action will make him “one of the greenest president’’ in the country.
The President, as chairman of the Climate Change Commission (CCC), signed resolution No. 2 approving the National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP). CCC vice chairperson Mary Ann Lucille Sering said the plan called for the government to respond to the challenge of climate change in the next 18 years.
