Cebu City escapee slain in police operation

CEBU CITY –– An escapee from a police station in this city was killed by policemen in a hot pursuit operation on Monday morning.

Roberto Cado Ludong suffered a gunshot wound on his upper body after he allegedly engaged the operatives in a shootout.

According to Major Dindo Juanito Alaras, the chief of Mabolo Police Station, Ludong, together with two other detainees––Oliver Basak and Nico Baylosis––escaped from the police station past midnight of Monday.

“He went hiding from one house to the other. And when he saw the police, he immediately fired at them, prompting the operatives to fight back.

Alaras said the other escapee was re-arrested while the other was still at large.

The three escapees were detained at the Mabolo Police Station for allegedly selling illegal drugs.
