COVID-19 positivity rate down in Metro Manila, most Luzon provinces — OCTA
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate of Metro Manila has to 12.9% over the weekend, while nearly all provinces in Luzon likewise saw a decrease in their positivity rates, independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research Group said Monday.
OCTA fellow Guido David said Metro Manila’s positivity rate decreased to 12.9% on August 27 from 14.6% on August 20.
“NCR (National Capital Region) positivity rate decreased from 14.6% (Aug 20) to 12.9% (Aug 27). Nearly all provinces in Luzon had a decrease in positivity rate,” he said in a Twitter post.

David noted that Bataan’s positivity rate declined from 10.5% on August 20 to 8.8% on August 27, making it the sole province to have a positivity rate of less than 10%.
Article continues after this advertisementDavid added that while the positivity rates of Albay, Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Isabela, La Union, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac declined, it remained “very high.”
“Bataan decreased to less than 10%. PR decreased but remained very high in Albay, Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Isabela, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac,” David said.
On Sunday, David said the weekly average of COVID-19 cases nationwide decreased by 15% while the national positivity rate also declined.
