Santa Ana town in Cagayan placed under state of calamity due to Neneng

TUGUEGARAO CITY — The town of Santa Ana in Cagayan province was placed under a state of calamity Monday (Oct. 17) after the damage caused by Typhoon Neneng (international name: Nesat).
The town council said it approved the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council for the declaration to speed up the rehabilitation and delivery of aid to the affected villagers.
Santa Ana Mayor Nelson Robinion said 170 families, or 600 people, in 16 barangays were affected by the typhoon, which triggered floods and landslides.
Local officials continued to inspect the damage to farms and livestock.
In Aparri town, widespread flooding and landslides affected at least 14,000 people.
