2 meat vendors, gov’t worker arrested for allegedly operating drug den

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines — Police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency raided on Thursday a drug den here that was allegedly operated by two meat vendors and a government worker.

According to a police report, the drug den is in Purok Riverside of Barangay Cogon, It was allegedly being run by Jomari Cusilit, 26, Mark Donnel Violan, 28, and Coleen Borembao, 20.

Cusilit, a resident of Barangay Cogon, and Borembao, a resident of nearby Hagonoy town in Davao del Sur, are meat vendors, while Violan, of Barangay Zone-2, is a job order employee of the government, although the police did not specify which office.

Seized from the suspects were 11 sachets of suspected crystal meth valued at P135,000, an Android mobile phone allegedly used in illicit transactions, and paraphernalia for using meth.

Authorities also recovered the P1,000 marked bill used in the buy-bust operation.

The suspects are held at the Digos police station while charges are readied for filing against them next week.
