MANILA, Philippines — A total of 51,569 individuals were affected by Typhoon Aghon (international name: Ewiniar), said the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday.

Eight of them were injured.

Based on the NDRRMC’s latest situational report, the majority of the victims werein Calabarzon (25,980), the Bicol Region (10,476), and Central Luzon (8,589).

Seven of the eight injuries were recorded in the Bicol Region, while the other was in Northern Mindanao.

At least 21,225 were also identified as displaced persons — 14,816 reside in evacuation centers and 6,409 outside such centers.

The NDRRMC has also only confirmed one death from Northern Mindanao.

The Office of the Civil Defense earlier said the total deaths due to Aghon have already climbed to 6.

No cost of damage to agriculture and infrastructure has been reported by the NDRRMC yet, but the agency has already logged 22 damaged houses, three affected airports, and 60 affected seaports.

Aghon also affected 38 roads and one bridge.

Regarding assistance, the NDRRMC said the national and local governments distributed more than P4,000,000 worth of family food packs to affected individuals.
