Heavy rainfall expected in parts of Luzon due to shear line
MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to intense rainfall may be experienced in the eastern part of Luzon on Wednesday due to the shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a heavy rainfall outlook released Wednesday morning, Pagasa warned of heavy rains in Quezon and Aurora from Wednesday noon to Thursday noon.
The state weather bureau added that these areas may see rainfall amounts of 100 to 200 millimeters (mm), possibly leading to numerous flooding events in urban areas, low-lying regions, and places near rivers.
Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall may be experienced in Isabela and Camarines Norte during the same forecast period.
Pagasa noted that localized flooding is possible in these areas, as downpours ranging from 50 to 100 mm may occur.

The shear line or the convergence of cold and warm winds may be triggering heavy rains in parts of Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Southern Luzon, according to Pagasa.
