Poe hails Dizon for getting ‘enormous task’ of improving transport sector

MANILA, Philippines — Former Senate committee on public services chair Grace Poe believes that Vivencio “Vince” Dizon, the newly appointed Transportation secretary, can speed up the urgently needed reforms and projects in the agency.
In a statement, Poe congratulated Dizon, thanking the latter for taking on an “enormous task” at a “critical time.”
“We are confident that with his skills and experience, he can fast-track the urgently needed reforms and projects under the department,” said Poe.
“The new DOTR chief can count on our support in bringing relief to our commuting public and lasting solutions to our transportation sector,” she added.
Dizon, an economist and consultant previously serving as the Bases Conversion and Development Authority president, was named the country’s transportation chief on Thursday as confirmed by the Palace.

The agency earlier noted that President Marcos accepted Bautista’s resignation, and then he immediately named a replacement.
