MANILA, Philippines鈥擲everal local government units and schools suspended face-to-face classes on Monday, March 3, following the state weather bureau鈥檚 forecast of a 鈥渄anger鈥 heat index level in parts of Luzon.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), its stations in Science Garden in Quezon City and Clark Airport in Pampanga forecast a heat index of 46 degrees Celsius, which falls under the 鈥渄anger鈥 category.
Pagasa station in Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Mu帽oz, Nueva Ecija, may also experience a 鈥渄anger鈥 heat index of 45 degrees for the province on Monday, Pagasa added.

Below is the list of areas where face-to-face classes are suspended on Monday, March 3, 2025:
- City of Manila 鈥 All levels, public and private, afternoon classes only
- Marikina City 鈥 All levels, public and private, afternoon classes only
- Caloocan City 鈥 Preschool to senior high school, public only
- Las Pi帽as City 鈥 All levels, public and private
- Malabon City 鈥 All levels, public and private
- Para帽aque City 鈥 All levels, public and private
- Valenzuela City 鈥 Preschool to senior high school, public and private
- La Salle Green Hills 鈥 Preschool to senior high school
- Far Eastern University (Makati and Manila campuses) 鈥 All levels, afternoon classes only

To prevent heat-related illnesses, Pagasa likewise advised the public to take the following precautions:
- Limit outdoor activities
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
- Avoid beverages like tea, coffee, soda, and alcohol
- Use umbrellas and hats, and wear light, long-sleeved clothing when outdoors
- Schedule strenuous activities during cooler times of the day, such as early morning or late afternoon
