5.1-magnitude quake hits waters off Burgos, Surigao del Norte

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck the waters off Burgos, Surigao del Norte, on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
It was recorded at 9:10 a.m., 33 kilometers (km) northeast of the town.

Phivolcs said it was tectonic in origin with a depth of focus of 10 km.
No damage to property, but aftershocks may be expected, it added.
