MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Two areas are expected to reach the highest heat index on Thursday (April 3) at 43掳C, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its latest bulletin, Pagasa reported that its monitoring stations at Iba in Zambales and Virac in Catanduanes forecast heat indices of 43掳C in these areas.
If this happens, the two areas will fall under the danger category (42潞C to 51潞C).
The weather bureau said 鈥渉eat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely,鈥� and 鈥渉eatstroke is probable with continued exposure鈥� under this level.

The Department of Health had urged the public to stay hydrated and minimize outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to reduce the risk of heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses.
It also advised the public to wear loose and lightweight clothing to stay cool amid the scorching heat.
